The machine starts fishing on wrong depth.

If the machine starts to fish at another fishing depth then set in the machine it might depends on several different reasons.

Machine does not reach down to set fishing depth:

  • The problem might be that the temporarily "catch depth memory" guides the machine to the latest fishing depth. More information is found in this article Catch depth memory problem
  • When using bottom fishing program the problem might be too short "Bottom detect time" that is used to detect bottom. In older firmware this time is called "Bottom timer" From "Main menu" in "Bottom fishing program" press PROG button 3-4 times (depend on firmware version) to adjust the time.
  • BRAKE power might be too high and can slow down the wheel speed too much. From main menu press button 6 ("BRAKE - ").
  • Sinker might be too light. Recomended is 2 kilo.
  • "Catch time down" is activated or set too short. This will set machine in to CATCH MODE and haul up. Note that when using any of the Mackerel fishing programs the CATCH MODE is not shown. The machine just pulls up and restarts.

Machine does not stop at set fishing depth:

  • Also here the problem might be that the temporarily catch memory guides the machine to the latest fishing depth. More information is found in this article Catch depth memory problem
  • If DRAG setting is too low the wheel might continue roll out. Press button 1 (DRAG +")
