Fine adjusting the calculated LINE OUT

In the document  Wheel counter / LINE OUT does not work we show how to test and setup the wheel sensors. Here is how to adjust the LINE OUT, given that the sensors are OK.
What this will do is to help the machine to calculate the line length, and it's much affected on how much line that is spooled on wheel, how thick the line diameter is, and the wheel widh. Every lap of line payed out will be shorter and shorter. The first lap of line going into the water is much longer then the last lap. So for fine tuning the line length....

  • Navigate to menu [E41] (WHEEL - DIM) This tells the BJ5000Ex how wide the wheel is. Higher value means that calculated line shrinks with slower rate for each wheel lap.

  • Navigate to [E42] (WHEEL - LINE) This is the fishing line diameter. Higher value means that the calculated line length shrinks with faster rate for each wheel lap.

If different diameters of the fishing line is spooled on wheel, the only line that matthers is the line going into the water. If line with different diameters still are getting into the water, just estimate the average diameter.

  • Press Prog button [E42P] to set the amount of line spooled on wheel. This is not set in legth, but the diameter on the outher (1 lap) on the wheel. The wheel has 3 holes located at the outside wall that corrensponds to 160,180 and 200mm. Look through the holes to see if it's covered with the line. If so choose a higher value. If the hole is free to see through, choose a lower value. Estimate the value as best as possible.
Higher value will make BJ5000Ex pay out less wheel laps to try reach the decided depth. If depth is not reached lower this value. Is depth is passed too much, increase the value.
